Wendy, Steve, Greyson, and Fiona have lived in Oregon since 2010 and have always had a soft spot for rescues and running. Wendy and Steve rescued their first fur baby in 2007, a cattle dog mix named Zin Dogg. She was their first and only baby until sweet Greyson was born in 2016. Running is a big part of their life - so much so that the baby announcement for Greyson was running shoes, running bibs, and Zin Dogg all in a line. They ran their first 5k in 2008 and have been hooked ever since. To date they have a marathon, 3 Hood to Coast races, and over a dozen half marathons under their belt. Fiona and Greyson did their first kids fun run in 2022 and now have the itch to run like mama and dada. Wendy was so thrilled when she met Dani and it became an obvious no-brainer to ask her amazing family to band together to make change in our community.
Daniel, Dani, Marcus, Brielle, Luke, Beau, and Tucker live in the country right here in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Daniel being a retired Army Ranger has always been passionate about fitness and has run multiple 5k races and half marathons. Dani was once a personal trainer and running enthusiast, though now only exercises outside of farm chores if coerced, and for social reasons only. Dani stumbled into the foster puppy life in late 2022 dragging her husband along for the ride. They kept their 6th foster (Coco the Malinois) to befriend their first rescue dog Roxy. They have fostered 13 puppies in total.
When Wendy had the Gals with Mals Running Co idea, it was only an obvious choice to join forces in creating a nonprofit to support the causes both families felt passionate about.
